How to Apply for XAT 2010:

Step 1: Register for XAT 2010 Admission Test

Register for XAT at www.xlri.edu. After successfully completing the registration, the candidate has to download the XAT Pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount of Rs. 800 is to be tendered along with the pay-in-slip to obtain XAT bulletin 2010 from select branches of Axis Bank (listed below). The detachable form given inside the bulletin is to be filled-up and sent to XAT office along with the XLRI’s copy of XAT Pay-in slip (that was signed and sealed by Axis Bank at the time of buying the bulletin).

Alternatively, one can register for XAT after obtaining a demand draft (DD). A candidate has to first make a non-refundable DD for Rs. 850/- drawn in favour of ‘XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT’ payable at Jamshedpur and then register for XAT at www.xlri.edu. He/she then has to send the XAT PP Form (that is to be downloaded after registering for XAT) along with the DD to

The XAT office will dispatch the bulletin to the candidate on receiving the form and demand draft.

Step 2: Registration for Academic Programmes offered at XLRI

After registering for XAT, a candidate should register for XLRI’s programme (s) at www.xlri.edu. After successfully registering for XLRI, the candidate has to download the XLRI Pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount (refer table below for the amount) is to be tendered along with the pay-in-slip to obtain XLRI Prospectus 2010 from select branches of Axis Bank (listed below). The cost of the prospectus depends on the number of programme (s) applied for and is as follows

For one Programme:

A. Two year Post Graduate Programmes in

(i) Business Management

(ii) Personnel Management and Industrial Relations

Eligibility:

Candidate who has completed three years of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2010 may also apply

B. One year General Management Programme:

Eligibility: Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad. He/she should be employed in a full-time job and must have at least five years of relevant managerial experience as on March 31, 2010 after completion of graduation

C. Four year Fellow Programme in Management

Eligibility: Candidate should have a Master’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad with three years of work experience or CA/ICWA/CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and three years of work experience or a BE/B. Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and four years of work experience

Seven New IIMs in India

Indian Government plans to add seven new IIMs to the list if prestigious management institutes. Four of these will be made functional by next year and three to be made operational later. The stage for these was set with the 11th Five Year Plan endorsed by the National Development Council (NDC) in December 2007. The total number of IIMs in India will reach 13 once all the new ones are completed.

List of New IIMs:

Seven new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will be set up in:

  1. Chhattisgarh
  2. Haryana
  3. Jammu & Kashmir
  4. Jharkhand
  5. Rajasthan
  6. Tamil Nadu
  7. Uttarakhand

The four IIMs at Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu), Ranchi (Jharkhand), Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and Rohtak (Haryana) will see admissions from academic session 2010-11 with an initial intake of 140 students in the PG course in Phase I. The plan is to reach 560 students per year by the end of Phase II.

SNAP TEST 2009: Symbiosis National Aptitude Test

Symbiosis International University (SIU) conducts Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test for admission into Post-Graduate Institutes. Students must appear for the written test for admission into any Post-Graduate programme.

Clearing SNAP is not enough, candidates have to get through selection procedure of the desired Institute to qualify for the admission.

SNAP 2009 Test Date:

December 20, 2009.

SNAP Application:

Application Starts in the month of September 2009

How to Register for SNAP 2009:

Students need to visit www.snaptest.org to register themselves for SNAP 2009 and generate a SNAP ID.

Payment Modes:

1. Cash Payment at Axis Bank.

2. Demand draft : Get a demand draft from any Nationalize Bank in favor of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune. Sign the single copy of the ‘Payment Advice’ for DD and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat only.

3. Credit Card : Students may pay directly through either Master or Visa card online.

SNAP Prospectus:

Prospectus for SNAP test is sent to candidates by Symbiosis Test Secretariat.

How to Apply for SNAP Institutes:

The candidate has to make separate registration and payment for the particular institute where he is interested to take admission. For this the mode of payment is either by Credit Card or by Demand Draft. For candidates both the above mentioned processes are mandatory i.e. candidate has to pay for Test Fee + Prospectus Fee and pay separately to the institute as a particular institute’s registration fee.
