Many of you might be appearing for MAT for the first time. There is a lot of confusion, we try to solve that with the following most common questions faced by MBA aspirants.
Q1: When is MAT conducted? How many times in a year?
Ans: MAT is conducted four (4) times per year in the months of February, May, September and December.

Q2. What is the minimum Qualification needed for MAT Exam?
Ans: The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT Entrance Exam is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent recognized degree. Students who have appeared for their final year can also appear provisionally.
There is no fixed minimum percentage required. However different Management Institutes and Universities may lay down some minimum percentage criteria. Its always better to refer to the prospectus and select the institutes where you can apply.
Q3: What is the age Limit for appearing in MAT? Do you need some Job Experience?
Ans: There is no age bar and no Job experience is required for MAT Entrance Exam.
Q4: What type of questions are asked in the MAT Test?
Ans: MAT is an objective type test with multiple-choice answers. Candidates have to answer 200 Questions in 150 minutes. Questions are divided into five sections as detailed below:

Q5: How many Management Institutes participate in MAT?
Ans: The number of participating Institutes may vary from time to time. The prospectus for all the tests provide a list of institutes accepting MAT score for that test.

Q6: What is the admission criterion for MAT Institutes?
Ans: All institutes may set a different admission criterion. This may change from time to time also. Propectus is the best guide to all the current information.
Q7: Are Management Institutes participating in MAT recognized by AICTE?
Ans: All Institutes participating in MAT are either AICTE, DEC approved; University affiliated College or University Department. For further information candidates should contact the MIs/Universities of your choice. The list of various MIs/Universities is available in MAT bulletin along with the admission notification.
Q8: What is the cost of the Bulletin? The DD, which is to be made, should be in whose favor?
Ans: At Present the cost of a MAT bulletin is Rs.980/- by cash across the AIMA, New Delhi counter/ Select Bank of Baroda branches/ AIMA Study Centres all over India and Rs.1050/- against Demand Draft (DD) by post. DD should be made in favour of “All India Management Association”, payable at New Delhi.
Q9: For how long is MAT score valid?
Ans: MAT score is valid for that particular session for most institutes is one year.
Q10: I am not in India and live abroad, Can I still appear for MAT?
Ans: Along with all major cities in the Indian MAT is also conducted in many cities abroad. Details of the centres out of India is provided in the MAT Prospectus.

Q11: Where do we get the admit card for MAT?
Ans: Admit Card is placed on AIMA website 7 days before the test date. Applicant has to take printout of the admit card. This Admit Card contains Test Centre Address with Centre Code, Form No and Roll no of the test. No separate special card is issued.
